The bigger LIMS solutions exist, but they're built for enterprise labs with IT departments and unlimited budgets. They're bloated, expensive, and overkill for most research labs. So labs just... stay on paper.

From Paper to Digital: How Archon Simplifies Lab Compliance
I started building Archon in my first year at university after watching labs drown in paper trails and Excel sheets that couldn't survive an audit.
Most compliance software picks one piece of the problem, a notebook, or a LIMS, or an inventory tool, and leaves you stitching the rest together yourself.
Archon is the operating system for the lab itself. Notebook, samples, inventory, SOPs, datasets, audit trail, and accreditation readiness all in one system, built so the compliance record assembles itself as the work happens instead of getting reconstructed the night before an inspection. It works offline and scales from a single lab to a multi site network.
