I built Angler because I loved how Apple's iPhone Duo folding-screen demo tilted the UI in 3D, and my MacBook already has a hinge sensor. So I wired the desktop to it: close the lid, the desktop holds its angle and the top edge blurs. It's the same idea as the Duo, just using the hinge you already have.
