I started building Productivity Flow because I had a very simple problem myself: I often found long articles, documents, and messages difficult to consume and remember. I wanted a way to understand information without constantly staring at a screen or copying everything into another AI app. The first thing I built was what became Audio Flow. I wanted to select text anywhere on my computer and have it read aloud, explained, or summarized. I used the early version myself for a while, and that led to the next idea: if audio can make information easier to understand, visual explanations could be even more powerful. That became Video Flow, which turns text, articles, documents, or code into narrated visual explainers. As I kept building, I realized the bigger problem wasn’t just reading or understanding information — it was the constant context switching required by most AI tools. Open a chatbot, copy something, paste it, write a prompt, wait, then move the result back. I wanted the AI to come to the workflow instead. That is why Productivity Flow is designed to work system-wide, directly from the apps you are already using. I later added Voice Flow as the input side of the same idea: speak naturally and have polished text inserted directly into the current app. Eventually the project became one connected system for transforming information between voice, text, audio, and visual explanations. The project has evolved a lot technically as well. Video Flow now uses structured AI planning with a controlled rendering pipeline rather than letting a model generate arbitrary rendering code, Audio Flow has grown into Read, Explain, and Summary modes, and Voice Flow supports local and cloud speech recognition with polishing and contextual handling. I’ve built and maintained the project independently from scratch, and I’m keeping it open source because I think this problem is much bigger than my own use case. The core idea behind the whole project is still the same: Transform information without leaving your workflow.
