We’ve developed a new Redactor editor for apps that work with AI and need to integrate with it not as a chat feature, but as a full-fledged solution specifically designed to work with documents and their blocks. The key is that editor sends the text and document data to your backend as JSON blocks. Your app processes this request, choose the necessary prompt, selects the appropriate model, and the AI returns a response. As a result, the backend returns as a response and the editor’s UI helps display it in the document as issues, alternatives, and even reports. The key feature is that, unlike typical solutions, the editor doesn’t automatically replace sentences, words, or blocks all at once. The UI gives authors a choice: they can review, accept, reject, or refine each change. The integration isn’t tied to a specific AI provider, since it all depends on your backend and which model or providers you prefer the editor will work with those. The editor supports synchronous requests, asynchronous tasks, and customizable job mechanisms for sending document structured data. You can check out the demo version, which includes pre-prepared AI response examples, but you can also try out different commands yourself to see what kinds of responses different prompts might generate. BTW, check out the various add-ons related to editorial and review workflows. They’re also great and quite different from what’s available on the market. We especially like how simple and flexible the review workflows are, allowing authors and reviewers to fully work with comments and revisions right within the document.
