I'm the maker behind withSolène.
We started building Solène because we kept coming back to a simple question:
What if an AI didn't always try to fix you?
So much of the technology around us is built for speed — ask a question, get an answer, solve a problem, move on.
But there are moments when you don't want an answer.
You just want somewhere to put the thoughts you don't know how to say out loud.
That's what we're trying to build with withSolène.
Kai, our AI companion, isn't designed to act like a therapist or give you a 5-step solution to everything. He's designed to listen, notice the things underneath your words, and stay with the conversation.
You can talk about your day, something you're struggling with, a relationship, a book you're reading, a random thought at 2am — or nothing particularly important at all.
And over time, Kai can remember the threads that matter to you, so you don't have to start from zero every time.
We're still very much building this.
A lot of our work right now is actually in the tiny details: how Kai responds, when he should ask a question, when he should simply listen, how he remembers something without making the conversation feel robotic.
We're learning a lot from every person who talks with him.
