Vendel
An open source SMS gateway for your own devices
Hey Product Hunt! Vendel is a full-stack platform for SMS management and delivery through connected devices. It allows sending SMS messages using registered devices (Android phones or modems) as gateways, with quota management, webhooks, and multi-user support.
SMS APIs shouldn't cost a fortune or lock you into a single provider or worse block your country. I built Vendel because I needed a simple way to send SMS messages using the devices I already owned — Android phones and USB modems — without paying per-message fees to Twilio or similar services.
The idea started when I realized that most SMS use cases (OTP codes, notifications, alerts) don't need carrier-grade infrastructure. They just need a reliable gateway that routes messages through real devices. So I built one. Any contribution is welcomed!

Vendel was hunted by Jimmy Angel Pérez Díaz.
