I'm Hakan, a backend developer from Turkey. I'm not an iOS developer by trade — I built VakitApp entirely with vibe coding because I wasn't happy with the existing prayer time apps. They felt outdated, cluttered with
ads, and none of them brought everything together in a modern way.
So I decided to build the app I wished existed.
What I'm most proud of:
— Offline-first architecture: Prayer times are calculated locally using GPS + astronomy. Quran (6,236 verses), 36,390 hadiths, dhikr — all bundled in the app. No server dependency.
— Dhikr Circles: Create a room, share a code, and do group dhikr in real-time with friends or family anywhere in the world. Everyone's count syncs live.
— Native iOS done right: Lock Screen widgets, Dynamic Island with live prayer countdown, StandBy mode, Siri Shortcuts, iCloud sync — I tried to use every meaningful iOS capability.
— Zero ads, zero tracking: All personal data stays on your device.
As a backend developer building a full iOS app with vibe coding, this journey has been wild — ~625 Swift files, ~79K lines of code. It proved to me that the barrier between "I have an idea" and "I shipped it" has never been lower.
