I'm excited to share USBRecognized — a free collection of browser-based hardware testing tools built for anyone who's ever wondered "is my keyboard actually working?" or "why does my mouse double-click?"
The Problem
Every time you buy a new keyboard, suspect a dead pixel, or prep for a video call, you end up Googling for a random tool — downloading sketchy .exe files, granting admin permissions, and hoping nothing breaks. It's 2026. That shouldn't be the experience.
What We Built
USBRecognized puts all your device testing needs into one browser tab. No downloads. No installations. No accounts. Just open a page and start testing.
Currently available tools:

🛸 Refresh Rate Test — Monitor Hz detection, ghosting/motion blur test, UFO-style animation
🔍 Dead Pixel Test — Full-screen color sweeps to find stuck and dead pixels
🎤 Microphone Test — Real-time waveform visualization, input level meter, noise detection
📹 Webcam Test — Camera preview, resolution/FPS check, mirror and snapshot tools

We're a small team (okay, mostly just me 😅) building this because we believed hardware testing should be as easy as opening a URL.
