TypeTab
On-device autocomplete that learns how you write
On-device autocomplete for your whole Mac. TypeTab finishes your sentences in every app — press Tab, Ctrl+E for the line. No cloud, no account.
Top comment
Hey Product Hunt 👋 We built TypeTab because cloud autocomplete tools ship every keystroke to a server — and you can't trust them with sensitive emails, partner messages, or API keys. So we took the harder path: a custom-tuned Gemma 3 1B model running entirely on your Mac's GPU via MLX. No internet required. No telemetry. No accounts. Password fields and sensitive apps are automatically excluded. Here's the workflow: type anywhere on macOS and see a ghost-text suggestion. Hit **Tab** to accept the next word, **Ctrl+E** to accept the whole line. **Ctrl+;** fixes spelling on-device. What makes it personal: TypeTab trains a tiny LoRA adapter from your own writing — your vocabulary, your sign-offs, your turns of phrase. It's a small file you own, export, and move to any new Mac. You can even pre-seed it with blog posts or brand guidelines on day one. The whole promise only works if it's true. So we're flying blind by choice — no analytics SDK, no dashboards, no data leaving your machine. If you've ever wanted autocomplete that actually sounds like you — and stays on your Mac — we'd love your honest feedback.
