TYIT is a different kind of messaging app. Write to someone now, then choose when the message should arrive - later today, tomorrow, on a special date or sometime in the future. Because not every message needs to be instant.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built TYIT because I kept coming back to a slightly strange question:
**Does every message really need to arrive instantly?**
Almost every communication product is trying to make messaging faster, instant delivery, instant replies, constant notifications.
TYIT goes in the other direction.
You write something to someone you care about, then decide when it should reach them. It might arrive later today, tomorrow, on their birthday, months from now, or sometime in the future.
The message then goes on a little journey with one of TYIT’s couriers - from the slow Tortoise through to the considerably less restrained Lamborghini.
There’s also **Future You**, where you can write something now for yourself to receive later.
I’m not trying to replace iMessage, WhatsApp or everyday chat. If you need to tell someone you’re running ten minutes late, TYIT is probably the worst possible choice.
It’s for messages like:
“I was thinking about you.”
“Open this on your birthday.”
“I know we don’t speak as much anymore, but I wanted you to know this.”
Or something you want your future self to hear.
One of the things I’ve deliberately tried to avoid is turning TYIT into another social network built around engagement. I’d rather people open it because they genuinely have something they want to send.
Letters are free, and there are optional paid formats for cards, video messages and a few other features.
The thing I’d genuinely love feedback on is the core idea:
**Does making a message wait make it feel more meaningful - or does it just feel like unnecessary friction?**
