The Gift Journal started with a simple problem: the best gift ideas rarely arrive when you’re actually shopping.
Someone mentions a book they want, a hobby they’ve picked up, something they love, or something they definitely don’t want — and months later, when their birthday arrives, that useful little detail has disappeared.
I wanted gift planning to work more like a memory than a shopping list.
The Gift Journal is organised around people. You can capture Ideas and Hints as they happen, keep useful context about someone, plan occasions and budgets, follow a gift from idea through to given, and keep a history so you aren’t starting from zero next year.
It’s a native Apple app for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac, with private iCloud sync. There’s a 14-day full-feature trial and, rather than another subscription, a one-time Full Unlock.
I’d especially love feedback on the people-first approach: does this feel more useful than the usual occasion or shopping-list model?
