Tesdash
Free, open-source dashboard for Tesla's in-car browser
Built specifically for Tesla's in-vehicle browser. Most streaming sites don't open fullscreen automatically. Tesdash fixes that wrapping every link through a redirect trick that forces fullscreen with a single tap. What it includes: - 30+ EV charging networks filtered by country - Custom URL launcher for any site - EV charging cost and time calculator - Drag and drop to reorganize categories - Zero ads, zero tracking, zero accounts 100% client-side, no backend. Self-hostable via Docker.
I started this because I got tired of tapping links in my
Tesla only to get a windowed browser instead of fullscreen.
Most existing dashboards were either outdated, US-centric,
or just a list of links with no real thought behind them.
The ones that worked had a backend, and the ones that were
client-side looked like they were built in 2010.
I wanted something fast, modern, and with no server involved,
so I built it with Astro and Svelte. The fullscreen trick was
the first thing I figured out, and the rest grew from there:
charging networks by country because I'm in Europe and tired
of seeing ChargePoint everywhere, a calculator because I kept
doing the math manually, drag and drop because everyone
organizes things differently.
It's free, open source, and runs entirely in the car's
browser with no backend. Happy to answer any questions
about the tech or the approach.
