ternbook
A web directory for the modern web.
ternbook — A web directory for the modern web. Includes a one-click random website opener and a D3 force directed graph webmap that shows every website that decided to opt-in. Also has robust security measures and a pretty good search function. Easy to join too, add a json file in your /.well-known/ directory and do a POST request to an instance and you're good to go, your website gets shown! 98% of the codebase is generated using LLM based coding agents.
Made this because google has SEO spam and has a lot of ads, it started as a "homage to the old web" but it kinda evolved...
It's is an open-source, federated web directory protocol designed to be able to discover living websites. I might be annoying but I'm going to say it again, all you need is to add a .json file to your .well-known/ directory in your website, ping an instance, and that's it you just joined ternbook!
It uses an asymmetric gossip network protocol to allow communities to host sovereign, self-cleaning nodes.
