Hi PH! I'm Zsolt, a solo iOS/Mac dev and dad of two. TaleBird started as stories for my own kids on our daily 30-minute car rides. They kept asking to be IN the stories while we were listening, so I tried it: first they became the hero, then they were illustrated too. Classics they'll grow up on, Pooh, Alice, Oz, stories like that. We listened in the car, but they also started asking for it during the day and in the evening. It's deliberately screen-free unless you want the images. Audio first, the illustrations wait quietly on the page to show, share, or save for memories. Add a photo once and your child appears as the same character across every page. The photo is processed once and never kept. I wouldn't want that for my own kids either. There's also a "By day" mode, where a child asks the big questions kids actually ask and gets warm, real answers. They especially liked why the sky is blue and how fish breathe. You can fill hours with it and talk about what you learned at the end. We did. They even brought it up at school, like how glass is made, and were really proud of that. Built nights and weekends, tested against real bedtimes by my toughest QA team lol (ages 7 and 10 can be brutally honest). The stories run on hand-authored story arcs inside public-domain worlds, so the writing has real narrative shape, not template output. Would genuinely love your feedback, especially on the illustrated-hero consistency. Free on the App Store, and happy to answer anything in the comments today.
