Star Skimmer 3D is a browser-based endless runner built with Three.js — no download, no install, just click and play. Pick between three ships (Comet, Raptor, Nebula), each with its own feel, and skim through a procedurally escalating obstacle field using boost and shield mechanics that force fast trade-offs. Built solo as a side project to see how far a lightweight WebGL game could go in a single tab.

I built Star Skimmer 3D as a solo project to push what a Three.js game can feel like entirely in the browser — no installs, no plugins, just a tab and a runway of obstacles.
The core tension is the boost/shield combo: boosting gets you through faster but leaves you more exposed, and shields buy you safety at the cost of speed. Balancing those two on the fly is the whole game.
There are three ships (Comet, Raptor, Nebula) with different handling, and I'd genuinely love to hear which one people gravitate toward and why.
