Sora Type
Client-side font inspector, built on Vercel
Sora Type inspects fonts entirely in your browser — drop OTF/TTF/WOFF/WOFF2 for metadata, glyphs, OpenType features, variable axes, and language support. No upload. Unlike tools that only check character coverage, language reports use real HarfBuzz shaping (WASM), so misplaced marks show up. Compare two fonts with waterfall, glyph overlay, and pairing diagnostics. Built on Next.js + Vercel. Fonts never leave your device (PDF export is the only server hop).
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I kept seeing beautiful type on the web and having no idea what the font actually was. Sites rename the CSS family, so “Inter” becomes something useless — and if you want the real metadata you end up in DevTools, hunting the network tab, downloading the file, then uploading it to another inspector. Way too many steps for a simple question.
So I built Sora Type: drop a font (or load one from your machine) and inspect it fully in the browser — glyphs, OpenType features, variable axes, language support with real HarfBuzz shaping, plus side-by-side compare. No upload for inspection; fonts stay on your device.
I’m also shipping a companion browser extension to grab the font from a page and open it in Sora Type in one click. It’s submitted to the Edge Add-ons store and waiting on review — web app is live today.
Would love your feedback, especially if you work with type or ship sites on Vercel. What should I improve next?
