Small KDS
Turn any spare tablet into a live kitchen display.
Turn any tablet into a live kitchen display for your Square orders. From $1/month per location.
I run a small food business on Square, and like a lot of operators I just wanted our orders up on a screen in the kitchen instead of squinting at a receipt printer. But every kitchen display option was either locked to one platform or charged per screen / per device, and the moment you want a second screen (grill + expo), the price jumps fast. For a café or food truck, that's hard to justify.
So I built Small KDS for myself and my peers: connect Square, pick your location, and any spare iPad or Android tablet becomes a live kitchen display. Orders show up instantly as big, glanceable tickets with aging timers. The part I care about most, it's one price per location with unlimited screens, so putting a display on every station doesn't cost extra.
I kept it deliberately dead-simple: no new POS, no extra hardware, just your existing Square orders on a screen. It's live now on the App Store, Google Play and Amazon Appstore, $1 for the first month.
Would love feedback from other operators and makers, especially: what would make this a no-brainer for your kitchen? 🙏
