Sitemoth
Desktop SEO crawler with 240 checks, free with no URL limit
Sitemoth crawls your site from your own computer and flags 240 technical SEO issues, each with severity and the fix. JS rendering, GSC + GA4, log analysis, client reports and an MCP server for AI agents. Mac, Windows, Linux. Free in beta, no URL cap.
I run an agency-focused SaaS, and I use a desktop crawler on our own site and client sites every week. The free tier of the usual tool stops at 500 URLs, and the license costs £199 per user per year. So we built Sitemoth.
What it does
- Follows every internal link the way a search engine does and reports 240 kinds of issues: broken links, redirect chains, canonical and hreflang errors, duplicate and thin content, sitemap gaps, structured data and more. Each issue comes with a severity, a priority and the fix.
- Renders JavaScript in Chromium and shows what JS changed on a page, such as a noindex added after load.
- Reads your server logs in the same crawl file. You can see which pages Googlebot never requests.
- Pulls in Search Console, GA4 and PageSpeed data, plus axe-core accessibility and spelling checks.
- Checks AI search readiness: robots.txt rules for 19 AI crawlers, plus llms.txt validation and generation.
For agencies: client folders with a health-score trend, white-label HTML or PDF reports, share links that expire, one fix ticket per page template sent to Jira, Linear, Asana, ClickUp, Trello or GitHub, and scheduled recrawls that alert Slack or email.
For developers: a CLI and a free MCP server, so Claude or any other AI agent can run and query crawls.
Polite by default. If a site answers with 429, 503 or Cloudflare 1015, Sitemoth slows down on its own, and a throttled page is never reported as an SEO problem.
Your crawl data stays on your machine. It's free during the beta with no URL limit and no account. Please try it on your biggest site and tell me what breaks. There's a "Report a problem" button inside the app.
