I’m Panashe (aka @anphase), the maker of Selfime. The idea behind Selfime is simple: guided meditation, with you as the guide. Your words, your voice, and something you can make for yourself rather than just press play on. You can start with a guided practice and adapt it, or write your own script. Record it one card at a time, replay or redo each section, then save it as a tape to return to. No soothing radio voice required! And when you’d rather not record, Read-Along lets you follow the words silently. The whole app is built around a cassette-style field recorder, complete with moving reels, a tape counter and customisable tapes. There’s also Breathe for moments when you don’t need words. One feature I’d love people to try is For Future Me: seal a tape for a later date or a feeling. A few words from today’s you, ready for a future moment that could use them. Privacy is a core part of the design. Finished recordings and scripts are encrypted on your device. Selfime never receives a copy; no account, ads or analytics.
