Who hunted sDoku?
sDoku was hunted by Anthony. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community. Hi Product Hunt, I'm Anthony, I make sDoku.
I wanted the puzzle page back. Not a game with gems and lives, the actual page: ink on paper, a pencil, and the same grid everyone else in the paper got that morning. So sDoku is set like an old broadsheet. Pencil marks are handwritten, wrong digits get circled in red ink, and when you finish, a rubber SOLVED stamp comes down on the page.
What it does:
- One daily puzzle, the same grid for every reader. Gentle on Monday, a Diabolical on Sunday
- An archive in four editions, graded by the techniques a human needs, not by counting clues
- League tables: daily, weekly, monthly. Filing a time is free, you only need a free account
- Press cuttings: achievements clipped out of the paper, with the date you earned them
- Four paper stocks, including a Midnight Edition for 3am
The editor will help if you ask, but honestly: a hint goes on the record and that solve doesn't count for the league.
The daily puzzle and the league are free, with no ads. A press pass ($1.99 a month or $9.99 a year) makes the archive and the editor unlimited and opens last week's editions. If you'd rather not subscribe, Patron of the Press is $19.99 once.
Privacy, plainly: no account needed to play, and it works offline. Sign in, say yes to Sync, and your record is backed up across your devices for free, encrypted in transit and at rest on EU servers, not end to end. There's first-party usage analytics, and you can switch it off in the app.
