Screen Issues
browser tool to detect dead pixels and screen defects
Screen Issues is a lightweight browser-based tool that helps you quickly check and diagnose common display problems such as dead pixels, backlight bleed, bright spots, and uneven brightness. Most users only notice screen issues when something “looks wrong,” but it’s often hard to tell whether it’s a real hardware problem or just normal display behavior. Screen Issues solves this by providing simple full-screen color tests that make defects easy to identify within seconds. No installation.
I built Screen Issues after repeatedly seeing people struggle to understand whether what they’re seeing on their screens is a real hardware issue or just normal display behavior.
Most of the time, it turns out to be things like dead pixels, backlight bleed, or pressure-related bright spots, but it’s surprisingly hard for non-technical users to confirm that quickly.
This tool is meant to make that first step simple: open it in the browser, run a few full-screen color tests, and get a clearer idea of what might be going on.
I’d really appreciate any feedback, especially on what other tests or checks would be useful to add.
