Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Gregor, and I built Request Eagle because my API client had become the slowest app on my machine. Waiting four seconds for it to open, signing in to send a GET request, and exporting collections to share them with my team felt wrong for a tool I open dozens of times a day. So Request Eagle is a real desktop app first: ⚡ Native and fast. Written in Rust and drawn on the GPU, no web view inside. On my MacBook it answers the first keystroke 0.36 s after launch. Postman takes 4.3 s. 📁 Your files. Every request is a TOML file in a folder you choose. Commit it, review it in a pull request, share it with a push. No account and no cloud. 🧪 Familiar scripts. Pre-request and post-response JavaScript with the pm.* API, tests, JSON Schema checks and pm.sendRequest. 🔌 More than REST. gRPC with reflection, WebSocket and server-sent events. OAuth 2.0, AWS Signature and more. A Collection Runner with CSV and JSON data, and Flows for chaining requests on a canvas. ⌨️ Keyboard first. ⌘↵ to send, a command palette, shortcuts you can rebind, and Vim mode in the editors. 🤖 Ready for agents. An optional CLI that speaks JSON lets coding agents list, edit and run the same collections. Moving over takes a minute: import Postman collections and environments, OpenAPI documents or cURL commands. It runs on Apple Silicon Macs, Windows and Debian or Ubuntu. It's free and open source under MIT or Apache 2.0. Request Eagle is still early, so I'd love to hear what you'd need before you switch. What's the one thing that keeps you in your current API client?
