I built Refract because I kept catching myself reading a headline, feeling a reaction, and only later wondering — is this actually true, or just framed to make me feel that way?
Most AI fact-checkers ask one model for an opinion. Refract asks Claude, GPT-4 and Gemini at the same time, and shows you when they agree (real signal) versus when they don't (the story is more contested than a single score would suggest).
Two modes:
- **Quick Scan** — bias, purpose, funding and credibility, scored in about 15 seconds
- **Deep Verify** — pulls out the actual factual claims in an article and checks each one against a real primary source (government data, court records, official reports), not just judging the article's overall vibe
