I built Reelnest because my saved folder had turned into a graveyard. Hundreds of reels I'd deliberately kept — [recipes, gym form cues, places to eat in Lisbon] — and no way to find any of them again. Instagram hands you a grid of thumbnails and nothing else. No search, no text, nothing.
So Reelnest watches them for you. Every reel you save gets transcribed, its on-screen text read, and the useful parts pulled out — a recipe's ingredients and steps, a travel reel's places, a haul's products.
We launched here [N months ago] with search. Three things changed since:
It finds the moment, not the reel. Search "crispy garlic" and you get the line and the second it was said — 0:42 — not a five-minute video to scrub through.
It plugs into Claude and ChatGPT. The part I'm most excited about. Add Reelnest as a connector and your assistant can search your library mid-conversation: "what did that pasta reel say about the garlic?" — and it just answers, with the quote and the timestamp.
It's on Android and Chrome now, so saving works from the share sheet or a right-click.
