We built this because we kept hearing the same thing from PRTF, QRTP, and residential behavioral health operators: every EHR they'd tried was really a clinic EHR with a few residential fields bolted on. None of them understood per-diem billing off a bed log, FFPSA/QRTP documentation requirements, or the reality that a bed hold, a guardian consent, and a treatment plan deadline are all part of the same workflow — not three separate modules. The problem we set out to solve: billing teams were rebuilding claims by hand every month from bed logs and spreadsheets, clinical teams were finding compliance gaps only when an audit caught them, and admissions had no real-time view of which beds were actually open. Three teams, three tools, constant re-entry, and nothing talking to each other. Our approach changed a lot along the way. We started by trying to configure a general behavioral health EHR for residential programs, and it became clear pretty fast that residential care has fundamentally different economics (per-diem, hold-bed, capitated billing) and compliance obligations (FFPSA/QRTP, guardian-first consent) that need to be native to the system, not layered on top. So we rebuilt around the bed log and the treatment plan as the two anchors everything else — billing, compliance, admissions — connects to. The part we're most proud of is the predictive crisis AI reading clinical notes over time to flag deterioration before it becomes an incident, with every risk score explainable — because "black box risk score" isn't something a clinical team can act on responsibly. Would love feedback from anyone running PRTF, QRTP, MST, or group home programs — especially where your current system still forces you to work around it rather than with it. Happy to answer anything here today.
