Hey Product Hunt 👋 I've had a Reddit account for over a year and I still walk around half-confused. Every subreddit has its own rules, and they're all a little different, so you cross a line without noticing. Sometimes the post just won't go through. Sometimes it goes through and then isn't there — I can see it, nobody else can. Comments too: I've written half a page, hit reply, and had it come back as "removed by moderators." None of that is Reddit being broken. Those rules exist for good reasons and the mods are mostly right. But nothing tells you which line you crossed, and the quiet ones don't tell you anything at all. Reddit shows you your own removed post exactly the way it shows a live one — that is what makes the removal silent, and why people find out days later, when nobody has replied. So I built the boring version of the fix. PostGuard is a Chrome side panel that does two things around the moment you hit Post. 🛡️ Before. Open a subreddit's submit page and it scores the draft 0–100, with every reason listed and labelled by where it came from: that subreddit's own rules (karma minimums, account age, outside links, required flair, self-promotion limits), whether it accepts AI-written content, your karma and account age, how often you've already posted there and how much of it was promotional, and what other users have measured in that community. Every line says its source, so you can disagree with it. 👁️ After. It looks at your post the way a signed-out visitor sees it — the only view that reveals a removal nobody told you about. Four answers, not two: visible, removed by moderators, reachable by link but missing from the listing (that's a filter queue), or not confirmed. Rate-limited is reported as "not confirmed", never as a removal. Pro re-checks at 5 min, 30 min, 2 h and 24 h and pings you when the state changes. Three things I decided early and would build the same way again: 🔒 It never posts. No posting, voting, commenting, following or messaging — it doesn't even type into the page. It reads what your own signed-in session can already see, the way an old-school browser add-on does, and it never touches Reddit's developer API. 🧠 The AI is two small optional buttons, not the product. One reads your draft against each numbered rule (1 credit). One rewords a line you wrote into a reply (2 credits) — you supply the meaning, the model is not allowed to add experiences, numbers or products you never mentioned. Putting invented stories into someone else's community is how you actually lose an account. 🙈 Your drafts and your post history stay in your browser. The only thing that leaves on its own is an anonymous outcome statistic with seven fields — subreddit, post or comment, the outcome, a coarse account-age bucket, a coarse karma bucket, whether there was a link, and the UTC hour. No usernames, no titles, no links. One switch in Settings turns it off, and everyone who leaves it on is why the "34% of link posts didn't stay visible here" line exists at all. A risk score is an estimate, not a promise. Automod configs are private — no tool can guarantee a post survives, and any tool that tells you otherwise is lying to you. So PostGuard also lists what it could not verify, which is the part I'm proudest of and the part that tests worst in demos.
