PaycheckCalc
Calculate and compare take-home pay across the US
Free 2026 paycheck calculator for salary and hourly workers. Calculate your exact 2026 take-home pay after federal, state, and local taxes. Supports all 50 states, 107 cities, 401(k) deductions, FICA, and filing status - or compare two locations side by side. Free, instant, no sign-up.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Barron, the solo maker behind PaycheckCalc.
I built PaycheckCalc around a simple question that is often harder to answer than it should be:
**What will I actually take home?**
A salary alone does not tell the full story. State and city taxes, filing status, dependents, household income, retirement contributions, health benefits, and other deductions can significantly change what reaches your account.
Many paycheck calculators provide a headline number without making it easy to understand the calculation or compare different locations. I wanted to build something more transparent and useful.
With PaycheckCalc, you can:
💵 Estimate take-home pay from salary or hourly income
🗺️ Calculate pay across all 50 states plus DC and 107 city calculators
↔️ Compare two locations side by side when evaluating a move or job offer
🧾 Model federal tax, FICA, state and supported local taxes, 401(k), HSA, FSA, dependents, commuter benefits, and other deductions
🌐 Use the complete calculator in English or Spanish
🧩 Embed a configurable version on another website for free
The app is completely free, runs in the browser, and requires no account. I have also published the methodology and primary tax sources so users can understand what is included and where an actual paycheck may differ.
PaycheckCalc has been online for a little over two months and is beginning to gain organic traffic. I’ve continued expanding the tax coverage, location comparisons, and supporting state, city, and salary pages rather than treating it as a one-page calculator.
I’d especially appreciate feedback on:
• The calculator flow
• The location comparison experience
• Payroll or deduction scenarios that should be supported next
Thanks for checking it out!
