Invoice data you can trust, backed by an audit trail
PaperLine is an expense tracker built around trust in the numbers. Raw invoice data is never overwritten by currency conversion, and every change is logged with who made it, so nothing gets silently altered without a trace. It extracts text directly from each invoice first, and only sends it to a vision model when that extraction isn't enough, keeping it cheaper and faster than tools that run every document through a vision model. Built with Expo/React Native, FastAPI, and Supabase.
PaperLine started from a technical problem I found interesting rather than a personal expense-tracking headache: a lot of expense tools convert invoice currency and overwrite the original number in the process, so there's no way back to what was actually printed on the invoice, or who touched it.
So PaperLine keeps raw and converted values separate, and logs every change along with who made it, so there's always a clear record of what happened to a number, when, and by whom.
Under the hood it extracts text directly from each invoice first, and only falls back to a vision model when that isn't enough. Most tools just run everything through vision, which is slower and more expensive.
Built with Expo/React Native, FastAPI, and Supabase. I'd genuinely love feedback from anyone who actually handles invoices day to day, especially on whether this solves a real problem or if I'm missing something obvious.
