Pank

Find the vibe for your mood

Pank is a vibe-based discovery app for bars, restaurants, nightlife, cafés, and travel spots. Instead of stars and long reviews, people use quick vibe tags like Hidden Gem, Tourist Trap, Great Music, Overpriced, and Date Spot — so you can find places that match your mood.

Hey Product Hunt, I’m Kiril, co-founder of Pank.

This whole thing started from a problem I kept running into when visiting new cities:

You’re trying to find somewhere to go, and every app gives you basically the same answer:

4.6 stars
Nice place
Good service
etc.

Great, but what is the vibe?

I want to know stuff like:
- Is it popping or completely dead?
- Is it a hidden gem or a tourist trap?
- Is it good value or just overpriced?
- Is the crowd good or… sausage party?

That’s the part classic reviews don’t really answer.

So we started building Pank.

The idea is simple: discover places by vibe, not stars.

Instead of writing long reviews, people pick quick vibe tags like:

Overpriced / Worth It
Dead / Poppin’
Elevator Music / Bangers
Tourist Trap / Hidden Gem
Run Down / Insta Worthy
Mood Killer / Date Night
Low Energy / Dance Floor
Bland / Flavor Bomb
Tiny Portions / Big Portions
Long Wait / Quick Bites
Attitude / Chill Staff

It’s not trying to be another serious review app.

It’s more like the thing your friend would tell you before you waste your night somewhere.

And that friend part is a big part of Pank.

I don’t only want recommendations from random people on the internet. I want to know where my friends would actually go.

In Pank, you can follow friends and see their saved spots in your feed, so discovery becomes more about taste, trust, and people you actually know.

We’re starting with bars, restaurants, nightlife, cafés, and travel spots.

The goal is to help people avoid that “this looked way better online” moment.

We’re early, so I’d love feedback on:
- Does the vibe idea make sense instantly?
- Does following friends and seeing their saved spots make the app more useful?
- Are the tags useful or too chaotic?
- Which tags are funny, which are weird, and which ones should we kill?

Roast the idea, the UX, the wording, the tags, all of it.

Especially sausage party. I already know that one will divide people 😅

Who hunted Pank?

Pank was hunted by Kiril Seravall. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
