I run a software firm in a small town in India. Last year I watched an accountant upload a client's bank statement to a free PDF site and then type the client's password into it, and I couldn't stop thinking about how normal that was.
So Oxofolio does that work locally. The part I care about isn't the PDF operations — those are commodity — it's that the claim is checkable. The renderer talks to Electron over IPC and Electron talks to a Python sidecar over stdio. No HTTP on localhost, no sockets at all. Run lsof -nP -iTCP -a -p while a batch is processing and you get nothing back. An HTTP sidecar would have worked just as well technically and would have cost me that demonstration.
The licence check is offline Ed25519, no phone-home. An expired licence warns, it doesn't lock you out mid-engagement.
What I'd most like feedback on: is the verification approach actually convincing, or does it just look like theatre to you? I've been staring at it too long to tell.
