Hey Product Hunt — I built Orboii to answer a strange question: what if the internet felt like a place instead of a list? Most "website ranking" products are a table: a row, a number, a link. I wanted to see if a ranking could feel like a place you fly through instead — every website becomes a planet, its public profile becomes a planetary record, and its display position becomes an orbit in a shared galaxy you can actually navigate in 3D. You can explore and search without signing up. Drag to travel, scroll to zoom, click any object — the galaxy, the search box, and every planet's profile (rank, claim history, nearby worlds) are open with no account. Claiming a planet — taking over its display slot, or bidding to boost its exposure — is the only thing that requires payment, and even then there's no login wall beyond entering your own domain. Orbit position is a paid display feature, not a ranking claim. This is stated directly in the product, not just in fine print: the takeover panel reads "This is an immediate virtual display takeover, not ownership of a domain or physical body. Later competition does not return a completed payment," and the exposure-bid panel reads "This grants virtual display here, not domain registration. Exposure bids decay over 30 days." We do not want anyone to think they bought search ranking, traffic, or the domain itself. The hardest part technically wasn't the 3D — it was making the checkout honest under contention. Two people can click the same planet seconds apart, and Stripe idempotency keys, database reservations, and webhook delivery all have to agree on exactly one winner without ever double-charging or double-granting. A close second: keeping the galaxy interactive on a phone — mobile Safari zooming the whole page on a form focus, a bot-defense layer that must never block a real buyer, and an apex-vs-www origin split that silently broke mobile checkout before we found it. I'd especially value feedback on: 1. whether the planet/orbait model is understandable in the first 30 seconds, with no explanation from me; 2. whether claiming and the paid-orbit rules feel transparent rather than confusing; 3. whether the galaxy is smooth on your device — phone included.
