Hi Product Hunt! Maker here. NextGenUp is a free, open source AI upscaler for both images and video. It uses Real-ESRGAN for upscaling and GFPGAN for face restoration, and everything runs locally on your machine. Nothing you upscale is ever uploaded anywhere. What it does: photos up to 8K, video up to 4K, a same-size Enhance mode that removes blur and JPEG artifacts without resizing, batch processing with zip export, and a before/after slider on every result. Desktop apps for macOS, Windows and Linux with everything bundled, so there is no Python or FFmpeg setup. You can also self-host it and use it from any browser on your network. It is MIT licensed and free forever. I would love your feedback, and feature requests are very welcome.
