Windows Search now takes action, not just finds files
Microsoft is rebuilding Windows Search to help you do things, not just find them. The new experience is faster, cleaner, and lets you take action directly from the search box. Switch to dark mode, toggle Bluetooth, adjust brightness, mute your PC, or arrange windows simply by typing what you need. Built on WinUI 3 with improved search relevance, it's rolling out to Windows Insiders first, with richer previews and more actions on the way.
Microsoft is finally giving Windows Search a pretty interesting upgrade.
Instead of just finding apps and files, you can now type things like "turn on dark mode," "mute my PC," or "arrange my windows" and have Windows do it directly.
They've also rebuilt the search interface with WinUI 3, made it faster, and removed a lot of the clutter.
It's rolling out to Windows Insiders first, with file previews, richer search results, and more actions coming later.
