I made Neon Trail because I wanted a cursor trail that actually looked good on a Mac. Most effects I found felt like accessibility software or an old gaming theme, so I built a small native menu-bar app with the kind of glow I wanted to leave on from now til' the end of time.
You can pick a preset or tune the color, width, length, taper, follow speed, and sparks. It works across apps, does not intercept clicks, and is a one-time $10 purchase for two Macs, or $6 if you only use one Mac
