A bit of context on why I built this:
I was working on a design system with 200+ icons that needed to support 4 brand colours + dark mode. The "correct" answer was shipping 5 separate SVG sprites — one per colour variant — which added ~2MB to the bundle and made theming a CI problem.
I found COLRv1 fonts down a rabbit hole. The format solves the problem exactly: one font file, every icon, palette swappable from CSS at runtime. But the tooling to actually *make* one was scattered across Python scripts and font toolchain docs.
Hue Type is the tool I needed. Drop your SVGs in, get a WOFF2 back. No Python, no terminal.
It's free and I want to keep it that way until it earns the right to charge.
