I'm a tax accountant, I've spent years working in tax, and I'm currently pursuing my CPA license, and I built Meridian because I couldn't find a single app that handled my own situation: freelance income, some crypto, and eventually filing taxes as an American living abroad. Every existing tool covered one piece and made me stitch together two or three others for the rest.
Based in Miami, a lot of my work has focused on foreign income, foreign trusts, and expat tax situations, an area most general tax preparers rarely touch. I kept seeing the same pattern: people needed the kind of guidance an accountant gives, but couldn't justify paying one just to answer "am I doing this right?" So I built Meridian to be that, real tax intelligence, without needing to hire someone first.
Meridian brings FBAR, FEIE, Form 5471, crypto (Form 1099-DA), quarterly estimated taxes, and real-time deduction tracking into one place, so you don't need a general tax app, an expat compliance service, and a crypto tax tool just to know what you owe.
