Makie

Kids make games with AI

Makie is a child-safe AI game builder for young makers ages 8-15. Kids describe a game in their own words, watch Makie write real code live, then play, improve, remix, and share it. Unlike adult vibe-coding tools, Makie is built for families: filtered inputs and outputs, no ads, no stranger chat, parent-managed household access, and healthy weekly creation limits. Starter games and shared play links work in the browser, with no account needed to play.

Hi Product Hunt, I’m Saar, founder of Askie and a dad of three. My kids kept asking whether they could build the games they imagined, but the tools I found either expected real coding experience or were designed for adults. So we built Makie: a safe AI game studio for young makers ages 8-15. A child describes a game in their own words. Makie writes the real code live, then they can play it, ask for changes, inspect the code, remix starter games, and publish a play link. Friends and family can play without an account. The part I care about most is that creativity does not come at the expense of safety. Makie filters ideas and generated output, has no ads or stranger chat, keeps adults in control of household access, and gives creation healthy weekly limits. The beta is open now. Anyone can play without an account. Families who want to build can use invite code ASKIE and choose a household Maker Pass. I would love to hear what game your kids would make first, and what would make this genuinely useful for families.

Who hunted Makie?

Makie was hunted by Saar Benodiz. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
