LingoKeep

I kept watching hours of Spanish YouTube and retaining almost none of it, and it took me

embarrassingly long to work out why. Freeflow watching never tells you which words you

missed. You finish an episode feeling like you understood it, and the words you actually

failed on are invisible, so they never get practised.

LingoKeep is my attempt at closing that loop without leaving the video. Dual subtitles

under the player, click any word for a dictionary in place, one click turns it into a

flashcard that keeps the sentence and the timestamp it came from. Reviews replay the clip,

so you hear the line again in the voice that said it.

Two build notes, since this is that kind of crowd. Japanese needed real morphological

segmentation before any of it worked, because you cannot click a word in a sentence with

no spaces in it. And getting an MV3 content script to survive YouTube's client-side

navigation was most of the last month.

FSRS is free, including sync and the whole study surface. What costs money is the card cap

and Anki export. I put the algorithm on the free side on purpose, since paywalling the

scheduler seemed like paywalling the point.

Four languages so far, English interface. Happy to answer anything.
