Lidar

Find real users for your product

Lidar reads Reddit every day and brings you the people describing, in their own words, the exact problem your product solves. You paste your site, Lidar works out your market and the subreddits worth watching, and from then on you get a short daily list of posts with the reason each one matched and a link straight to it. You read what they wrote and decide who is worth a reply, because Lidar never messages anyone on your behalf. One product is 14 euro a month, with a free trial.

Hey Product Hunt, I built Lidar because I had the same bad week twice. I had a product, no audience, and the only ways to get in front of anyone were to pay for ads that interrupt people who were not asking, or to send cold email to people who never asked. Both worked badly and both felt awful to do. Meanwhile there were people on Reddit that same week writing three paragraphs about the exact problem I had built for, and I only ever found them by accident, usually a month too late. Lidar fixes the accident. You paste your site, it reads the page, works out what you actually sell and who for, and picks the subreddits worth watching. From then on it reads those communities every day and sends you a short list of the posts that matched, each one with the reason it matched and a link straight to the thread. Your first matches land minutes after setup rather than the next morning. The part I care about most is the part it does not do. Lidar never messages anyone for you, has no templates, no auto replies, and no DM sequences. Reddit is full of people who can smell automated outreach from a mile away, and rightly hate it. You read what someone wrote, in their words, and you decide whether you have anything useful to say. If you do not, you close the tab. Two things you can try right now without an account: Subreddit finder at lidar.sh/tools/subreddit-finder, where you type a phrase your customers would use and see which communities actually say it, ranked by how often, with the threads Community pulse at lidar.sh/pulse, which shows what each community asked over the last seven days Both run on the same pool of posts the product reads from, so they are a real look at the engine rather than a demo. Pricing is 14 euro a month for one product, and every project starts on a free trial. I would genuinely like to know where this breaks. If you run it on your site and the subreddits it picks are wrong, reply here with the URL and I will dig into why. Same if the matches are noisy. That feedback is worth more to me today than signups. I will be here all day.

Who hunted Lidar?

Lidar was hunted by MeduardKrasniqi. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
