Kotkit: Beat Maker & Studio
Make Music, Rap & Record Songs
Kotkit is a pocket music studio. Make beats, write lyrics, record vocals and share your songs, all from your phone. No experience needed. Start from a quick-start groove or build your own beat step by step.
I’m Onurcan, a solo indie dev from Ankara. Kotkit started as a video editing app idea, but I kept coming back to one thing: making beats on your phone still feels either too toy-like or too complicated. So I pivoted and built the music studio I wanted for myself.
What Kotkit does: 🥁 Beat maker: tap out drum patterns and loops in seconds 🎹 Piano roll: write melodies and basslines with real control, not just presets 🎙️ Vocal recording: record over your beat straight from your phone 🌍 Community: share your tracks and find what others are making
It’s built for people who get an idea on the bus and want it down before it’s gone, not for people who need a full DAW.
Where I’d love your feedback:
How does the first 60 seconds feel? Could you make something without a tutorial?
Is the piano roll usable on a phone screen, or is it cramped?
What’s the one feature that would make you open this over GarageBand / BandLab?
I’ll be here all day answering every comment. Roast it honestly, that’s what helps most 🙏
