Near real-time world map of wildfire ignitions: satellite detection (NASA FIRMS, Meteosat), AI-verified citizen reports, free area alerts. The canary sings before the siren.
Hi Product Hunt! I'm Vincent, I built kanari alone over the summer with AI agents.
The problem: a wildfire is decided in its first minutes, but satellite detections sit in raw feeds nobody reads, and witnesses post on social networks before the press picks it up. The information exists; it is not assembled.
kanari assembles it, every 5 minutes: NASA FIRMS, GOES and Meteosat MTG hotspots clustered into fire events, witness posts (Bluesky, press, Telegram) geoparsed and graded by two independent models before they attach, water bombers tracked live via ADS-B, and a permanent page for every significant fire. In French, English, Spanish and Portuguese.
Everything is free and open: CSV under CC BY 4.0, REST API, RSS, and an MCP server (https://kanari.io/api/mcp) so your agents can query it.
It is an information service, not an official alert channel. Happy to answer anything on the clustering thresholds, the verification pipeline or the earliness we measure against press coverage (https://kanari.io/en/precocite).

Who hunted kanari?
kanari was hunted by Vincent Ryckbosch. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
