JigTail

A menu-bar mouse jiggler that keeps your Mac awake

JigTail waits until you're idle, then nudges your cursor just enough to keep sleep and the screensaver away. Free, native, and open source for macOS.

Top comment

Hey Product Hunt! I'm Pablo, the maker of JigTail.

Long renders, builds, downloads and backups should not be interrupted because your Mac decided to sleep or start the screensaver. Most jigglers just move the cursor all the time. JigTail only steps in when you are idle, and it can be conditional: it can run only when specific apps are open, when CPU usage is high, or while music is playing. You can also toggle it manually from the menu bar with a live countdown.

What you get:
- Idle-aware cursor nudging, so it stays out of your way while you work
- Triggers by app, CPU load or music playback
- Sleep prevention through IOPMAssertion
- Launch at login, with light, dark and system themes
- No accounts, no network requests, no telemetry

It is free, open source (MIT), signed and notarized, native SwiftUI for Apple Silicon on macOS 13+.

I would love your feedback, especially on which triggers you would like to see next. Thanks for checking it out!
