Hoolo

Keep your Mac workspace quiet, clean, and reversible.

Hoolo brings safe, rule-based file organization to macOS without turning cleanup into a black box. Preview every change with Dry Run, then undo applied actions from snapshots. It combines live folder monitoring, editable automation rules, duplicate review, Trash policies, and app leftover cleanup in one native, privacy-first workspace.

Top comment

I built Hoolo because file organization tends to fail in two opposite ways: it is either completely manual, or it is automated enough to feel risky. The goal was to make automation inspectable. Every rule starts as a Dry Run, shows the exact files and destinations it affects, and creates an undo snapshot when applied. That made it possible to support ongoing folder monitoring, duplicate review, Trash policies, and app leftover cleanup without asking users to trust a black box. Hoolo is still evolving, and I would especially love feedback on the rule builder, Dry Run review flow, and the kinds of repetitive file cleanup you wish your Mac handled better.

Who hunted Hoolo?

Hoolo was hunted by Ornata. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
