It then writes a course for exactly that. Plus, the lessons speak - any module can be turned into a podcast for the commute. And there's an AI tutor riding along that can adapt the course as you go and answer questions about the content (yes, out loud too!)
Hi everyone, Leo here! 👋
I built Hakken because I got annoyed learning music theory. I've been playing the guitar on and off for over 20 years but never bothered with the theory, so every course I found started me from scratch (or was too advanced).
Then I started learning to snowboard, planned a trip to Japan, and hit the exact same wall with Japanese. I don't need "the pen is on the table". I need to buy a lift pass and order lunch.
So Hakken starts with a short interview via text or voice to understand what you're trying to learn, how much you know and how much time you can invest learning each week. It creates a course exactly around that:
- if learning a language, lessons come with audio to help with pronunciation.
- If something isn't landing, you tell the tutor and it rewrites the lesson: the real course changes, not just a chat reply.
I'm building it solo and figuring out what works. It's been great seeing what early users have been learning on the platform.
Stuff I'd love feedback on: the interview is a key part of the product, and it's hard to get right. If you try it, tell me where it asked a dumb question or missed something obvious about you.
But honestly, anything really will be useful!
