Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Salman, solo founder of Frontmate. The idea came from noticing something odd: businesses have automated almost every way you can contact them — chat widgets, WhatsApp, online booking forms — but the phone is still a human sitting at a desk. And that human can only answer one call at a time. So when reception is already on a call, or with a customer at the desk, or out for lunch, the phone just rings out. The caller doesn't leave a voicemail. They ring the next place on the list. That's not a "you should hire more staff" problem. It's a physics problem. One person cannot answer two phones simultaneously. Frontmate is an AI receptionist that picks up those calls. It answers in natural conversation, handles bookings and enquiries, and emails a written summary straight after — so nobody has to sit and listen back to voicemails. The thing that surprised me most while building it: the hard part wasn't the AI. It was everything around it — telephony routing, making the handoff feel natural, getting the summary email to say something actually useful instead of a transcript dump. The conversation quality was the easy 20%. It's live and running for real businesses now. The best way to judge it is to just call the demo number on the site and talk to it yourself.
