Fluence

Listen to your documents. Nothing leaves your phone

Fluence. reads your PDFs, EPUBs, Word, OpenDocument, Rich Text and Markdown files aloud — in a natural voice that ships inside the app, in 31 languages, with nothing to download first. Follow the highlighted text as it plays, ask the document a question and get an answer drawn from its own passages, or record your own voice and have it read back to you. No account, no server, no subscription: one payment, and it works offline for good.

Hi Product Hunt, I built Fluence. because I read a lot on my phone and wanted to listen instead — and every app that could do it wanted my documents on its servers first. Fluence. does the whole thing on the device. A natural voice, in thirty-one languages, ships inside the app: there is no pack to pick and nothing to download before you can press play. Bring in a PDF, an EPUB, a Word or OpenDocument file, Rich Text, Markdown, plain text or a web article, and it works out the structure, narrates it, and keeps the text in step with the audio so you can follow along or take over reading whenever you want. You can also ask the document a question. The answer is written by a language model running on the phone, from passages of your own document, and it shows you which passages it used. There is no account, no server of mine, and no subscription — one payment and it is yours, offline, for good. If you want your own voice reading to you, you record a short sample and it stays on the phone too. It is on Android today. I would genuinely like to hear what you read, and what gets in the way — I will be here all day. — Yannick

Who hunted Fluence?

Fluence was hunted by Yannick HUCHARD. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
