Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Rishabh, the creator of Flashback Booth.
I love the tactile, nostalgic feel of vintage photo booths, but I couldn't find a digital version that didn't require making an account or sacrificing privacy. So, I built one myself.
Flashback Booth is a completely free, browser-based retro photo lab. My main goal was to nail the physical aesthetic while keeping the tech modern and secure. Getting the material physics right for the UI like the ambient occlusion shadows on the corkboard, the brass pins, and the torn paper textures was a massive but rewarding challenge. Under the hood, the entire app is built with Next.js, styled with Tailwind CSS, and brought to life using Framer Motion for smooth interactions.
The best part? It is 100% private. All the processing and film filtering happens locally right inside your browser. No photos are ever uploaded to a server.
