The video editing software world is so bloated. It doesn't matter how much money you pay for a software, it always takes long to start, and the editing experience itself is frustrating and glitchy. With every year and update they shove more web services into the suite that worsens the user experience even more. Recursively nest sequences and stack effects on top of each other like a pro.
There are no accounts. No subscriptions. No hidden features. It all works OFFLINE.
There are a ton of looks, effects and transitions. Color correction is built into the editor with every knob and lever and color wheel you expect. You can add titles, animate them and style them.
The editing experience is hardware accelerated. There is efficient caching of what the app thinks you'd need in VRAM, RAM and on disk. When you import video files into the project, they get optimized into a GPU-friendly format for fast playback. You can export video files using hardware acceleration or high precision software encoding for maximum fidelity.
It's designed from the ground up on Metal and CoreGraphics on macOS, Vulkan for Linux, Direct2D and Direct3D on Windows. There are no abstraction layers or cross-platform frameworks between you and the system to slow you down. You are talking to the system. This makes it FAST!
