I'm Tuan, the solo developer behind Expense Tracker.
I started this project out of frustration. I'm based in Vietnam and handle finances in multiple currencies — VND for daily life, USD for freelance income, and I also invest in physical gold (very common here). Every finance app I tried fell into one of two traps: it was either too simple to handle multiple currencies, or it required an account and synced all my financial data to someone else's server.
So I built my own.
The gold portfolio tracker is the feature I'm most proud of — it lets you track physical gold (bars, coins, jewelry) by weight unit and purchase price, and gives you a live P&L. It's a feature that makes zero sense to Western audiences but is incredibly relevant across Southeast Asia.
Everything runs locally on your device. No login. No cloud. No ads. No subscriptions.
