Hey PH - maker here. EarPal started with the palm-sized plastic translator my mum bought for a trip: press a button, speak, release, wait for the other person to press theirs. Two-way, offline, kind of charming - but it was one more gadget to charge and lose, and it only ever handled two people taking strict turns. Meanwhile the iPhone already ships Apple's on-device speech, vision and translation models. So I built the software version that handles the real thing: a table of people switching languages mid-sentence. The whole project lives or dies on the on-device multi-speaker diarization actually working at a noisy dinner table. After three months of testing with real people in five languages, it finally does. Everything else — Personal Voice, the Watch app, Live Activity, video subtitles, chapters, transcript Q&A — is built on top of that. On pricing: I'm a traveler myself, so the free 60 min/month is a real working tier, not a fake trial. If you only need EarPal for the odd trip, the free plan is genuinely enough. Pro is for the heavy users — captions on every meeting, language learners, long daily sessions. Lifetime exists because some people just don't want subscriptions, full stop, and I respect that. For PH today: the first 500 people to open this on their iPhone get Pro free. https://apps.apple.com/redeem?ct... If you hit a bug, an awkward translation, or a missing language pair, tell me right here — I'm reading every comment today.
